Jamshedpur: In a significant milestone for Indian sport climbing, three athletes from the TSAF Climbing Academy — Aman, Anisha, and Joga — have qualified for the Asian Games 2026. Aman and Anisha have secured qualification in Lead Climbing whereas Joga qualified in Speed Climbing, with more athletes expected to qualify in upcoming events.

This achievement reflects the steady rise of a program built from the grassroots level. Climbing activities under TSAF began in 2015, at a time when structured facilities and scientific training systems were largely unavailable in the country. The TSAF Climbing Academy was formally established in 2021 with just 10 climbers from local communities in Jamshedpur.

In a short span, the academy has grown into a robust ecosystem:

·                     Over 1000 climbers across Jharkhand and Odisha

·                     16 grassroots training centres

·                     2 Centres of Excellence

·                     Over 100 international representations

·                     Multiple-time national championship wins

The academy has also contributed to the global climbing ecosystem by hosting major international events, including:

·                     IFSC Asian Kids Climbing Championships (2022 & 2023)

·                     IFSC Asian Youth Climbing Championship (2024)

TSAF had two athletes represent India at the Asian Games 2022. The qualification of three athletes for the 2026 edition further strengthens its position as a leading high-performance pathway in the country.
With a strong pipeline in place, TSAF aims to continue producing athletes capable of competing and excelling on the international stage.
