Jamshedpur : Tata Steel Foundation, in collaboration with Tata Strive and Bajaj Auto, inaugurated a new Skill Centre at the Bhalubasa Community Centre in Jamshedpur. The Skill Centre will offer an employment-linked, three-month Two-Wheeler Service Technician program aimed at unemployed youth from marginalized sections of the community. Funded by Bajaj Auto and supported with infrastructure by Tata Steel Foundation, the initiative seeks to equip young individuals with industry-relevant skills and hands-on training in the automotive sector.
Present on the occasion were Sudhakar Gudipati, Vice President – CSR, Bajaj Auto; Liladhar, Circle Head, Bajaj Auto; Ameya Vanjari, Chief Operating Officer, Tata Strive; Rajarshi Mukharjee, Head – Partnership, Tata Strive; Rajdeep Saha, Lead – Partnership, Tata Strive; Capt. Amitabh, Head – Skill Development, Tata Steel Foundation; along with Bajaj Service Centre dealers from Jamshedpur, Chandil, and Chaibasa.

Designed for youth aged 18–35 years who have completed their 10th standard, the program combines classroom learning with practical exposure. The training includes three months of intensive skill development followed by one month of On-the-Job Training (OJT). Upon successful completion, participants will receive certification and be supported in securing wage or self-employment opportunities in the automotive sector. The centre aims to train 80–100 candidates annually, with a strong focus on ensuring a minimum of 80% placement, thereby creating meaningful livelihood opportunities for youth.
This initiative reflects the collective commitment of TSF, Tata Strive and Bajaj Auto to enhancing employability, nurturing talent and promoting sustainable livelihoods within the community. With the combined strengths of the three partners, the Skill Centre is envisioned as a hub of learning, growth and innovation, equipping young individuals with the competencies needed to thrive in today’s dynamic job market.

The inauguration ceremony featured the welcoming of guests, ribbon-cutting of the Bajaj STEP Lab, and ceremonial lamp lighting by dignitaries, followed by a welcome address and a presentation on the Bajaj STEP program. The event also included speeches by esteemed guests and an interaction session with trainees from the Two-Wheeler Technician batches. The program concluded with a vote of thanks and group photographs.
