Jamshedpur, September 29, 2024: In a powerful display of creativity and environmental awareness, a team of 11 students from Kerala Public School Kadma participated in a captivating play/skit competition held at Tata Steel Zoological Park. The event, organized by Rotary Club Jamshedpur and Tata Steel Zoological Park, focused on the themes of cleanliness, waste management, and sustainable practices, emphasizing the need for environmental stewardship. The competition, held under the guidance of Dr. Naim Akhtar, Deputy Director, Shri Hari Lala Bhusal and Smt. Anita Rajak, K.P.S Kadma. Rotarian Dr Vijaya Bharat and Rotarian Ms. Lekshimi Sharat play a key role organizing this event. The students delivered a thought-provoking performance, highlighting key issues related to waste disposal, recycling, and the importance of adopting sustainable lifestyles. Their skits not only entertained the audience but also raised awareness about the urgent need for individual and collective action to protect the environment. The Deputy Director of Tata Steel Zoological Park also emphasized the importance of such initiatives in instilling a sense of responsibility among young minds and encouraged the students to continue their efforts in promoting eco-friendly practices.
The performances by the students were a culmination of weeks preparation, during which they worked closely with their mentors, Hari Lala Bhusal and Anita Rajak, to develop their skits. The skits covered various aspects of waste management, including segregation at source, reducing plastic usage, and the significance of cleanliness in maintaining community health. With growing environmental challenges, initiatives like this play/skit competition play a crucial role in fostering a culture of sustainability among the younger generation.
