Jamshedpur, September 28, 2024 – Tata Steel UISL has been recognised at the 66th National Convention and 8th International Conference, hosted by the Indian Institution of Industrial Engineers (IIIE), Jamshedpur Chapter. The event, held at The Wave International on September 27th and 28th, 2024, was themed “Innovation & AI Enabled Sustainable Growth: Emerging Roles of Industrial Engineers.” Out of 18 projects awarded under the Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories for Innovation and AI, Tata Steel UISL’s project, ‘Drones for Infrastructure and Town O&M,’ was selected as the 3rd Best Project. Authored by Ms. Sapna Jaiswal and Mr. Koustav Banerjee, the project highlights the potential of drone technology to improve the operation and maintenance of urban infrastructure, enabling more efficient and sustainable urban management. The team was honored with an award and a cheque. The Company’s pioneering work highlighted the potential of drones to monitor, maintain, and manage infrastructure efficiently, ensuring sustainable urban growth while minimizing environmental impact.
In addition to recognition, several other innovative research presentations were featured by Tata Steel UISL at the conference, including: CityGIS – Transforming Urban Infrastructure Management with Data Visualization. This presentation focused on the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and advanced data visualization techniques to optimize urban infrastructure management, providing city planners and engineers with actionable insights. Another was Sustainable Construction through Industrial By-products, This study emphasized the potential of repurposing industrial by-products in construction, offering sustainable building practices and contributing to reduced environmental footprints. The event brought together leading professionals, researchers, and industrial engineers from across the globe to discuss the latest technological advancements and explore innovative solutions for sustainable industrial growth. The focus on AI, drones, and industrial automation underscored the critical role that cutting-edge technology plays in shaping a greener, more sustainable future.
