Jamshedpur, Potka: A new ring road will be constructed from Neeladungri near Sundernagar to Station Chowk, passing through Ghaghidih and Kitadih, along the Hata-Tata main route in Potka. This major project has been approved by the Jharkhand government. The total length of the road will be 14.61 kilometers, with an administrative approval of ₹99.94 crore for the construction. This ring road was one of the election promises of Potka MLA Sanjeev Sardar. The MLA has been actively pursuing this project, regularly meeting Chief Minister Hemant Soren and sending letters to the government regarding the demand for the road. Finally, the state government’s cabinet has approved the construction of the road.
Several key routes, such as Kitadih Bagbera Ring Road, Ghaghidih Jail to Matladih Road, Kerwadungri to Jamshedpur Main Road, and Tata Main Road, among others, will be linked under this project. The road construction will also involve bridge building, land acquisition, utility shifting, and resettlement work. MLA Sanjeev Sardar stated, “This ring road will benefit not only Singhbhum but also the people of Odisha. The stretch from Sundernagar to Tatanagar station often faces heavy traffic congestion, causing significant problems for commuters. With the construction of this ring road, the traffic issue will be resolved.” This historic project is expected to give a boost to the region’s development. With eight major roads connected through the ring road, transportation will become much smoother and more efficient.
