Jamshedpur/Potka– August 30, 2024– Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar has officially submitted a memorandum to Dr. Irfan Ansari, Jharkhand’s Minister of Rural Development, Rural Works, and Panchayati Raj, pressing for the construction of a bus stand at Hata Chowk in Potka Block. In the memorandum, Sardar emphasized the strategic importance of Hata Chowk, a crucial junction connecting key routes to Odisha, West Bengal, and Jamshedpur. Despite being a significant transit point, Hata Chowk lacks a bus stand, forcing passengers to wait by the roadside, often in unsafe conditions. This long-standing demand has yet to be met, despite the availability of adequate land owned by the East Singhbhum Zilla Parishad.
A Detailed Project Report (DPR) amounting to ₹4.91 crore has already been prepared by the East Singhbhum Zilla Parishad and submitted for approval. The proposed bus stand would not only ease the daily commute for thousands but also boost the local socio-economic landscape. Additionally, it would generate revenue for the East Singhbhum Zilla Parishad. Sardar has urged for prompt administrative approval to initiate the project.
