Jamshedpur: In the recently held elections of the Press Club of Jamshedpur, Manoj Singh emerged victorious as the new president. The election, conducted through a ballot process at Nirmal Bhawan, Circuit House Area, saw a peaceful turnout. Singh won by a significant margin, defeating the outgoing president, Prashant Singh Putul, by approximately 40 votes. Vinay Purti was elected as the General Secretary, securing a 47-vote lead over outgoing General Secretary Anjani Pandey. Ajay Mahto, the new Treasurer, triumphed over the previous treasurer Vidyasagar Singh by 44 votes.

A total of 178 members participated in the election, though two votes for the president were declared invalid due to technical reasons. Manoj Singh received 100 votes, while Prashant Singh Putul and Sandeep Sauran garnered 60 and 16 votes, respectively. Vinay Purti, with 96 votes, surpassed his opponents Anjani Pandey, who received 47 votes, and Kanhai Hembram, who got 34 votes. For the position of Treasurer, Ajay Mahto won 89 votes, while Vidyasagar Singh and Abhishek Piyush received 45 and 43 votes, respectively. The elections were overseen by Election Committee Chairman Brajbhooshan Singh and conducted in the presence of candidates. The process concluded peacefully with the newly elected officials receiving their certificates. The election committee, along with district administration, was commended for ensuring a smooth and orderly election process.
