Jamshedpur: An impromptu action of Mango Police, resulted in arrested of two individuals involved in an extortion case in Jamshedpur. The accused, identified as 21-year-old Himanshu Tiwari from Garhwa and 19-year-old Yuvraj Kumar Singh from Barmamines Station Road, were apprehended and sent to jail. The police also seized the mobile phones used in extortion and demanding of money. According to City SP Kumar Shivashish, under the direction of the SSP, a special task team was formed to track down the suspects. Using mobile location tracking, police arrested the duo near Telco Ram Mandir.

The phones used to demand extortion were found in their possession at the time of arrest. City SP Shivashish further revealed that the criminals were trying to establish a new gang in Jamshedpur, but the prompt police action foiled their plans. On October 17, businessman Banwalari Lal Gupta received extortion calls from two different numbers, demanding INR 2 lakhs. The criminals also threatened to kidnap his son. Fearful, the businessman initially transferred INR 5,000, but the criminals insisted on the full amount. Gupta lodged a written complaint at Mango Police Station on October 17, leading to the immediate arrest of the accused in just a couple of days.
