Jamshedpur, September 6: – In a massive operation, Jamshedpur police have cracked down on a notorious gang involved in the murder of Shaktinath Singh, the brother of criminal mastermind Amarnath Singh. The gang’s including, Ishwar Singh, and four key associates—Mantu Singh Sardar, Chiranjeet Kumar, Kishan Namta and Mahanti Singh—were arrested in Mango late last night. The police recovered a weapon, live cartridge, and mobile phones, which provided crucial evidence linking the suspects to several crimes. Shaktinath Singh’s murder has sent shockwaves across the region. According to police, the motive behind the murder was a financial dispute over the sale of land belonging to Amarnath Singh which he illegally occupied. The accused, led by had pressured Shakti to give them a share of the money from the sale of Amarnath’s property. When Shakti refused to comply, they shot him in cold blood.
The police revealed that the planning for the murder was meticulous. Shaktinath Singh arrived at the scene where the accused, including Mantu Singh and Mehdi Singh, were already lying in wait. Upon his arrival, they shot him dead. Ishwar Singh, played a significant role in the killing and eventually he was also closely associated with Amarnath Singh. After Amarnath’s death, the trio—Ishwar, Mantu, and Mehdi and other accused—insisted that if the land was sold, they would receive a portion of the proceeds, demanding INR 50,000 per “kattha” (a local unit of land measurement) by Shaktinath Singh. The tension between Shaktinath Singh and Ishwar Singh had been simmering for some time, with a major dispute arising over a party office. Ishwar Singh’s role in the murder underscores the deep-rooted animosity and desire to control Amarnath Singh’s properties. The swift police action has been hailed as a significant victory in the fight against organized crime. Authorities have assured that the investigation will continue, and all those involved will be brought to justice.
