Jamshedpur: In the Sonari police station area of Jamshedpur, a 30-year-old auto driver, Suraj Pramanik, was shot dead by bike-borne assailants near Carmel Junior College on Thursday morning. In immediate action SSP Kishore Kaushal formed an SIT with the City SP leading it, resulting in the arrest of three accused in connection with the case. The arrested individuals are identified as Manoj Jaiswal alias Manoj Pagli, Pintu Singh alias Prakash Kumar Singh, and Vikas Singh alias Hete. Based on their statements, the police recovered a country-made pistol, three bullets, and the scooter used in the crime.

Revealing the case details, SSP Kishore Kaushal stated that the murder stemmed from an old dispute. Years ago, Manoj had injured Suraj by damaging his eye, and Suraj had retaliated by assaulting Manoj. Manoj had warned Suraj against entering their locality. However, Suraj had recently started frequenting the Sonari area. On Thursday morning, while Suraj was sitting in his auto near Carmel School, Manoj and Pintu arrived and shot him. Vikas had provided the pistol used in the crime. The accused have been sent to jail.
