Jamshedpur: The ‘Gogo Didi Yojana,’ launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party as a counter to the ‘Maiya Samman Yojana,’ has become a source of confusion for residents of Potka and Hata. Large crowds are flocking to the residence of former MLA Menka Sardar to submit forms for the scheme. However, residents like Anita Sardar and Jayanti Sardar from Chapi village allege they were sold the forms by local representatives for five rupees, only to be turned away when they tried to submit them.
At Menka Sardar’s residence, the forms were rejected as photocopies, not originals, adding to the frustration. BJP leader Vibhishan Sardar attempted to clarify that the forms should be submitted where they were purchased, offering some relief but leaving many still puzzled.
With hopes tied to the promise of receiving Rs. 2,100 per month, residents have been left wandering in uncertainty. Experts say the scheme is still in its early stages, and forms are being collected through booth committee heads for registration. However, the confusion persists, with many people unclear on the proper process.
