Jamshedpur, October 2: The Press Club of Jamshedpur has officially dissolved following the completion of its current term. A decision was made to form a new committee by October 20 through a formal election process. The election will be conducted by secret ballot, and the schedule for the same will be announced soon. This decision was taken during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Chamber Bhavan, presided over by senior member Braj Bhushan Singh, who has been authorized to oversee the election process. The current President, Prashant Singh Putul, and General Secretary, Anjani Pandey, announced their resignations as the committee’s tenure came to an end.

To ensure the smooth conduct of the election, a committee was formed with Braj Bhushan Singh as its chairperson and members including Arindam Sinha, Anand Kumar, Arun Kumar Singh, Devanand Singh, Shashi Bhushan Kumar, Kumud Jena, and Ajay Shankar. This election committee will soon announce key dates for nominations and withdrawals.
Prior to the meeting, General Secretary Anjani Pandey presented the financial report for the fiscal year 2023-24, which was unanimously approved by the members. Several prominent journalists, including Rajesh Lal Das, Devanand Singh, Shashi Bhushan, Mantoosh, Manoj Singh, C.H. Ramamurthy, Sandeep Sawarn, Vinay Purti, Indrajit Singh Pintu, Ratnesh Tiwari, Rupesh, Arindam Sinha, and Murari Singh, shared their thoughts during the meeting, emphasizing the importance of holding elections rather than forming the new committee through nominations.

Senior members Anand Kumar, Jaiprakash Rai, Arindam Sinha, and Siddhinath Dubey expressed their satisfaction with the work accomplished by the Press Club over the past three years and congratulated the outgoing committee. The meeting, attended by both city and rural journalists, took place in a highly cordial atmosphere.
